Have a friendly competition or inter-office/department challenges to increase drive success. For example, human resources is challenging accounting to a tuna can drive…who can collect the most of a specific item.

Consider a themed drive for each week: Raisin Rally, Granola Gathering, Pudding & Peanut Butter Party, Spaghettio's Stockpile, PB&J Jackpot, etc.

Helpful Tips to Make Your Food Drive a Success

• ✓ Print and post a list of suggested food donations.
• ✓ Hold your food drive for 2-4 weeks.
• ✓ Wrap collection boxes in kid friendly paper and attach the suggested shopping lists to each bin.
• ✓ Email or post local sales for specific items on employee cork boards, newsletters, etc.
• ✓ Contact Food4Kids to find out what items are in need and/or shortages.
• ✓ Have a team designated to emptying the bins, weighing and counting items.
• ✓ Offer to take up a monetary collection for individuals who do not want to purchase items.
• ✓ Take pictures! They are a great way to announce your organization's participation.
• ✓ Food4Kids can arrange to pick up the items from you.
